Overview

Each access control system designed by the Inception Technologies team is unique to the organization that it is created for. Part of that customization lies in using the right technology for each access point, based on the level of security and the environment in which it’s used. Inception Technologies currently utilizes three small, sleek and easy to use devices, using three different types of technology.

The SY-1 is our access control device which operates using a magnetic stripe card. The SY-1 is water resistant and made from durable aluminum, making it most suitable for medium-high security access control points, both indoor and outdoor.

The PRX-10 is one of the most secure proximity devices available on the market today. The PRX-10 uses a proximity card reader and cards which are recommended for maximum protection against duplication. The smooth and elegant PRX-10 is also water and vandalism proof, so its good for inside and out!

The PRintX uses the highest in security technology: biometric fingerprint verification. The PRintX uses a solid- state sensor which reads a users fingerprint to verify their identity. The PRintX can store up to 1,100 compressed finger-print templates using a proprietary algorithm, so user fingerprints are not accessible or viewable to anybody as they never leave the device.

How It Works

Each device works in relatively the same way as far as the electronic transaction is concerned. First, a user must interact with the device via magnetic badge, proximity badge or finger print. The device then communicates with the SY-400 controller, SY-780 Odyssey, or SY-760 Orion, and compares the user information with an internal access control list provided by the InfiniTime Labor Management Software. Then, the correct action is taken by the SY-400 / SY-780 / SY-760.

The real differences lie in how the device identifies the user:

The SY-1 uses a standard magnetic card, and is swiped down the center data track, much like a credit card.

The PRX-10 uses a proximity card which is waved within 6 inches of the front of the device. When the card enters the magnetic field, it transmits its encrypted number to the reader making it a contact less reader.

The PRintX uses the latest in biometric technology. The user simply places their finger over the PRintX for a quick scan of the finger print which is compared to a database of pre-existing template stored in the machine. The user is identified by the template in less than 1 second.
